I have seen a car for sale but it does not have the original paint. It is not painted in an available Jaguar colour in its time.

What is the penalty for non-authentic paint? Does it make concours impractrical?

I have seen two cars score 100 this year.

With the paint deduction to a perfect score will result in a net score of 99.800 (or 99.80).

That might be ok after all.

Dan,
Next year (1996) the revised Chapter VI goes into effect. See the top of page 8 in the revised Chapter VI that is availble on the concours page of this site. The maximum deduction under the revised chapter is 20 points.

when you start with non authentic paint, it's a big hit... if you like the color, if the price is right and you don't plan on showing it, then fine... otherwise, you may want to find another one...

Dan, you will want to download a copy of the Concours Rule Book for yourself - it will answer this type of question. Click on "Concours" and you'll find it. Refer to Chapter VI, page 5. The deduction for wrong color is 25.00 points.
