I understand that one of the few options available for the MKVIIM was a C-Type cylinder head. As a performance enhancement, what is the horsepower bonus, and how difficult is the conversion?

David you need to get a copy of Jaguar Technical Bulletins #95 and 95A dated June 1951 and April 1953. They will tell you what you need. I can tell you I have done this on a few XK120s and the increase is well worth the effort. With 2in sandcast carbs the car is transformed. I would not however replace the pistons as this increase is not worth the effort. George Camp
