It's serial number is JAVLN49C103028.
I've looked on this site and XK's without finding this information.

I've just got ANOTHER Jaguar and need to know if it is a Mk-IIL or a Mk-III
Thank you doug;
I looked at that and it doesn't seem to differientate between the series II and III. They both, I think have a bonnet with two lamps that point down when it is open, I also think they have the almost the same fuel fillers. The taillamps change about 79 but I think the changes wern't all at one serial number. My primary concern is with the windscreen in that the S-III has, I think a taller glass than the S-I or II --and I need one.
The car is a LWB and says L on the boot so probably IS a S-II.
I have the PBD for my 120 and each part is listed for the cars it fits and the XJ could be that way also.
Someone, somewhere has a list for the XJ's and can tell me about it.

Michael,
XJs are referred to as "Series", not "Mark". see if you can identify it using this guide:

1969 E-Type OTS
It's a Ser II.
The last six digits of the VIN on Ser III cars were 300000 series.
Plus, as all Ser III cars were long wheelbase, the "L" designation was no longer needed or used.
