Dear All:

I have a 97 XJR that is still in ''Limp Home Mode'' after performing
the following repairs:

1. My battery kept on discharging due to a short in the heated
windshield jets. The shop disconnected the electrical wire. I was told
that it was draining the power from the battery.

2. They also replaced two (2) leaking transmission cooling lines and topped-off transmission fluid. I was told that the transmission fluid was
low due to the leak and this was causing the Automatic Transmission
Fail light to come on.

My mechanic tried resetting the fault codes to no avail. My car is still in Limp Home Mode and I don't know what to do next.

Car starts, runs and sounds fine, but is still in Limp Home Mode. It seems like its locked in on third gear.

Please help me.

pull the negative cable off the battery in the boot, wait a few minutes, reattach, tighten down. code should be gone. mine did that when i had the water pump go out and it got hot.
i wonder if there really is a mechanic that understands jag's. they sure don't work at the dealerships.

ilove a jag that runs.
