Can anyone help?1994 XJS 4ltr.Six.Stored the car for the winter, but, weather got nice and decided to take it out. When putting ground cable back on battery, alarm went off, headlights flashed, siren blared and horns did as well.I have an owners manual, but, not the security system hand book that the manual mentions for looking up the specifics of the system.A trip to the dealer was dissapointing, but, what did come from the trip was, according to a schematic he showed me on his computer screen was the following, the system basically has only four parts. The key fob.The megaphone like speaker.Control module and what looked like an on-off switch for a possible manual overide of the system.Or maybe it was just a switch that allows you to turn off the alarm if you don`t want to use it? Does any one out there know where that switch is located.Does anyone have a source for a used control module? They are $1400 new.If there is a relay involved the dealer did not show one.ANY HELP would be appreciated. Thank you. It`s a five speed manual,if that matters.Yeah I know, you`ve never seen one. From what I can tell it`s pretty rare.

Recently I could not unlock my XJR-S with the key fob and when I tried to unlock it using the key/door lock, I set off the alarm which I could not turn off. For the XJR-S, there is a wire junction in the trunk which I had learned some time ago controls the alarm. I disconnected the wire loom and the alarm stopped.

However, that is not my real suggestion (I also have a 1996 XJS and I would not know if there is the same wire junction on it). The underlying problem for me was not the car, it was the battery in the key fob. Try replacing this battery and as the other response indicated, use the key fob to turn off the alarm.

That was fast.In the center console, you mean taking out the storage bin between the seats and looking for a hidden switch? There is nothing on the center console except cruise control, lighter and the two window switches.I thought if there was a relay it might be somehow stuck open. The switch may be in the centre console, But you ought to be able to reset the alarm by connecting everything then using the key to lock then unlock the car. Jaguar affectionado and etc.
