Hi:

Well, I am still awaiting delivery of my 1976 XJ12L from the seller in St. Louis. It seems that they are having difficulty locating a reasonably priced, reliable, single car enclosed transport to me here in Boca raton, FL.

It seems one bid came in at $2850.00 and they think it should be closer to $1500.00.........

Any suggestions or reccomendations?
Thanks!

Check out Select 1 also. They are comparable to InterCity (I'm told) but less expensive. They also ship a lot of the auto show cars. I now have a car enroute from CT to CA, covered and enclosed at $1400. That's 500 less than the InterCity quote. This is my first time using them.

Hi, saw this post kind of late but... I have used Horseless Carriage to deliver my 58 Mercedes. They use enclosed transport and I think it was about 1200 from Georgia to RI. Very professional and easy to work with.

Having shipped a number of cars over the years, I can't understand the logic of looking for a seller who will only carry one or two cars. That means they're looking for a pick-up truck with a 2-car trailer.

InterCity Lines, on the other hand has lift-equipped rigs to minimize the need for the cars to be driven on or off the trailer, and drivers that inspect every car thoroughly before and after transport. They are among the carriers of choice for the owners who ship to and from Barrett-Jackson as well as many of the most important national shows.

From what I've seen InterCity also covers the cars once they're on the trailer and the levels have no open centers in them to allow fluid leaks on the car below.

In short, no one is likely to take better care of your car and their prices are competitive.

He assures me (the seller) that they are not price shopping, but wanting to ship with a carrier who will only cary 1 or 2 cars at most. So far I have no reason to question their truthfulness as they have been very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. I do not want to push too much as to push them to use a transport they otherwise would not....but, that being said I am getting anxious to get my car.
Guess I'll see what the next few days brings.

You're being ripped off. We had a 65' houseboat transported from Lake Lanier Georgia to Lake Norman NC for $2700.
