I am trying to find production #'s for my 1976 XJ12L.

I did contact the JDHT and I just received the JDHT Cerificate in today's mail, very cool.

I did try to get production #'s from them but only was told that 2,737 is the production figure for the XJ12L in 1976.

If anyone can get further information it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, again!

FYI, the very lovely Series III V12 Vanden Plas continued in production through the end of 1992 which was in fact the last year for Series III production. That production continued alongside the "replacement" XJ-40 from 1988 to 1992. These are very rare automobiles with the last 100 "limited edition" cars being produced in 1992 solely for the Canadian market. Each of these 100 cars was specifically numbered with an identifying plaque on the glove box door being installed by the factory. In some of the intervening years - 1988 through 1991 - even less than 100 of these cars left the factory that year. Some of these V12 cars have entered the US and are quite prized and treasured by those who are lucky enough to acquire one.

FYI, 1987 is the last year for Series 3 XJ-6 in the USA, though they kept making them for Europe and Canada until 1992. In 1988 they introduced the XJ-40 (un-officially known as the Series 4 XJ-6), the "squared" body style which is very problematic, specifically in the rear self-leveling suspension. In 1989 Ford "rescued" Jaguar and that marks the end of Jaguar as we knew it. So you could say 1987 is the last year for a Real Jaguar. You are lucky. Anything after 1988 is "Ford-influenced", to the detriment of the Jaguar marque. below is (or should be) a graphic of my two Real Jags.
