My father managed to acquire this car (xk-140 OTS MC (C-type heads)) years ago as a basketcase. It is the second one made (verified by Jaguar) and we know it was imported by Max Hoffman. We have traced it back to 1960, and that is where the trail ends. It was built in 1953 as a 1954 model and we know that within 5 years it was a basketcase with the original motor long gone. We think that Max probably purchased it and raced it out of his distributorship - but that is pure speculation. Does anyone know of Hoffman's records or how to dig through SCCA archives and figure out the early provence of this car? Any help is appreciated.

XK140s were a 1954 model, but #1 and #2 were built on the same day in late 1953 according to the factory.
