I can't believe I'm actually back in the Jag game, but my wife and I found a 1999 XJ8, a Florida car, with only 48k miles on it that had been owned by a retired couple wanting to get a SUV (they were moving from Florida to Tennessee, where it snows a few times a year). It's a beautiful car, burgandy red and flawless inside.

We paid less than $15k for it. I'm still shocked by how nice a car this was for the money.

The only negative was that it lacks a CD changer. But I'm sure I can find one from a parted-out car and install it.

My wife is thrilled, and I'm very happy to be a Jaguar owner again. At 32 years old, I may be the youngest guy driving an XJ8. (g) I like to think I'm progressive rather than an old guy stuck in a young guy's body.

Chase Dickenson actually got his car for Christmas just before he was 15 , he has been driving in JCNA slalom and shows the car in Concours.
For 2005 he will be receiving a 1st in Region Award for Concours, in slalom he placed 3rd in North America in Street Prepared. He promises to beat me next year ( 2007 ) I guess he needs a little more practice in the upcoming season. He also has to work on the engine bay............

I recently acquired my Jaguar for my 40th birthday. The previous owner was saving it for his grandson who is five. I managed to "steal" the car from this little one; however, my own five year old is also quite fond of this car. A Jag is awesome at any age!

Well, technically my black 89 is in my name, but it's been promised to my son and he is getting to pick out the vanity plates and make restoration decisions, so in reality it's his. He's 11. Beat that:) He he

I got my first Jag at 36 (89 XJ-S) and my second at 38 (another 89 XJ-S). You'll only be the youngest for a few years. My son will get the second XJ-S when he starts driving. Need to start the lad off right:)
