I am trying to get the electricals back together on a 66 2+2 and I am seeing a VERY dim signal on the test light when trying to get the turn signal working. Running lights and brake work fine (when grounded properly using a temporary aligator clip for now). The flash unit get the same dim light when testing at that point. I have gone through the barrel connectors for any signs of someone messing w/ the wiring in the past. All colors/wires match the diagram and I do get solid power to the brass tab off the horn. I am suspecting a bad ground coming out of the signal switch... but after taking the black wire to a good ground, this did not produce any difference either. Any ideas out there would be GREATLY appreciated!

Stew, I thought the ground was the cause due to the dim light. the problem turned out to be the fuse. the side feeding the this (upper right fuse...whatever # it was) was ready to give out and I only had partial power. Since I had a trace of power I never thought to hit the fuse first. All is well for now plus as a result I've cleaned up those connectors. Thanks, Lonnie.

Lonnie,
Have you checked for corrosion in the bulb sockets? Also check the bulb bases, and the spring tension. You can bead blst the corrosion away and respray the socket to prevent further corrosion.

Lonnie,
Check the ground wires coming off the turn signal lights, espeacially the rear ones. Try switching out flash unit; these can also be troublesome if not wired correctly.
