The switch to change gas tanks in my 1984 XJ6 has stopped clicking. I have located a new switch but am having trouble getting to/out the old switch. Would someone out there please give an answer/approach to solve this problem. I cannot see how to get the old one out short of going through the radio opening in the dash. Thank you for your anticipated help, ED

Hello Edwin! you can get in throught the clock/ computer space, then with a bent rod carefully unlock the catches (bottom first). But sometimes it is just as easy and less hazardous to loosen the, centre glovebox liner/ window switch panel/gear console cover, move it back enough to reach the front panel lower screws, then ppull down the front panel to reah the switch panel lower screws, it then pulls down or you can now reach in underneath it. ps, with those cars you have, take a look at www.101classiccarrental.com. Jaguar affectionado and etc.
