1. What is the proper way to charge the two 6v batteries in my 53 XK120? My car was converted to neg ground previously. Do I set my charger for 6v or 12 v? Do I hook up the charger to just one battery or do I hook the charger to 1 batt + and to the other batt - ?

2. anyone know how to best convert to a single 12v batt? Pros? Con?
Thanks,
Jim

I just posted the very same question. I'd ideally like to be charging from underneath the bonnet simply to avoid the complication of getting at the batteries. Does anyone have a picture of the wiring configuration to the starter solenoid? Cheers!

Hello Jim it is quite simple, the batteries are connected together to make 12volts. So it will be- chassis ground to a neg terminal on Batt 0ne, then a connecter link from the pos on Batt one to the neg on batt two, The pos on batt two goes directly to to the starter solenoid. You charge on 12 volts by connecting the pos lead of the charger to the starter solenoid or the pos terminal on batt two. Then connect the neg lead of the charger to anywhere on the chassis or the neg term on batt one. Many people install a 12 Volt, You simply eliminate the link cable between the two six volts.
