Thanks Chris, I feel a little better hearing it takes about 5-6 hours, He did say he will be tearing something down the other day, He must have ment the existing shocks, Ive taken the car to a Jaguar specilest, That is a member of my Jaguar club, But this is my first time dealing with him,,I like to mess with cars a little ,but there is no way i could do this without someone watching over me. Thanks Mick Yea baby, Behave.

Hi I gave the mechanic the go ahead , I think the parts are about$400 max, That makes a total of $600 labour for 2 shocks and 2 springs at thew rear of the car, Thanks Mick Yea baby, Behave.

$1000 sounds high. You can do it yourself fairly easily. I agree with George, Shocks and a spring compressor should cost under $500, probably under $400, depending on the brand of shock.

For $1000 I bet the shop is pulling the rear suspension, which makes the replacement easier but adds to the cost, IMHO . On my Series II 2+2 I could easily remove ths shocks without dropping the rear end.

Best Regards, John

Mark with the correct tools it is a 3 hour or so job. If you buy new springs and shocks (orig) it is less than $500. So what is the labor rate? George Camp
