The concours rulebook guide to non authenticity refers to aftermarket ignition systems saying ...No deduction for aftermarket electronic ignition systems utilizing stock components and a black control box mounted unobtrusively...

I know this is referring to systems, like Luminition and others, which replace breaker point ignitions on the older cars.

Question: Would this apply to a Crane ignition system used as a replacement for the Lucas-Opus ignigiton on a pre HE V12?
Thanks

Thanks for the super quick reply Dick. Perhaps I'll place a dummy OPUS amp in the original location and stash the Crane module somewhere. It's not too hard to hide stuff on a V12.

John,
The key word is "unobtrusively". An "ideal" aftermarket installation would be one where anyone inspecting or judging your car wouldn't be able to tell the difference between it and an original configuration.

If you're successful in concealing or disguising any external components, there should be no point deductions.

Good luck,
Dick
