I am new to this forum, but not new to forums in general so I appologize if my first post is a question, rather than lending a hand. I am not even sure I am posting in the right forum, my Jag knowledge is somewhat limited :)
I have recently come into the posession of what appears to be a rather rare Jaguar.. The details as far as I know are as follows.
Year: 1972
Type: Jaguar Daimler double Six Vanden Plas
Country Of Origin: England (right hand drive, imported to Canada)
Documentation: Original owners manual, service records etc.
Interior Condition: Excellent
Motor Condition: Excellent
Drivable: Yes
Condition: 95% Mint (could use a bit of touch up on some areas of the paint, otherwise perfect)
Now back in the day I believe I was told, or heard from somebody that there was less than 200 of these daimler vanden plas vehicles made so that is how I get the impression it is a rather rare vehicle.
My question is, how does one go about putting a value on a vehicle like this? I remember a few years back the owner tried to sell it on one of these forums and was emailed by a rather large amount of scammers, so gave up. I would like to gear this vehicle up for sale, but do not really know where to begin to get an appropriate price for the car. The location is as said in Canada. Perhaps if I can get an idea of the value, putting the vehicle on ebay would be a good option.

This sounds like an interesting car. I was under the impression that the Daimler Double Six or it's Jaguar twin, the XJ12 were introduced in 1973. I didn't think that any 72 models were made.
In any event, even if it's a 73 car, it's still fairly rare but I'm not sure that it's rarity will affect it's value that much though it won't hurt. My guess is that it's worth between $10000 and $14000 depending on condition. In perfect number 1 condition, it could go to $16000 - $18500. The right hand drive might help generate some interest.
We get quite a few requests for quotes on this forum but we can never say for sure without seeing the car.
