I just purchased my '95 XJS V-12, first time owner. I've noticed that the oil pressure reading varies with engine rpm (not too unusual), but at idle (say at a red light) the gauge reading goes to the lowest point. The oil pressure warning light does not come on, and the oil level is fine (new oil as well). Is this normal, or what should I look into?
Thanks in advance for your help.

95 XJS Oil Pressure Gauge Reading
Andy,
My '87 V-12 does the same thing. I'm with Doug, don't concern yourself with it. Besides, how much do your really trust those gauges anyway? ;-)

95 XJS Oil Pressure Gauge Reading
Pretty normal for V12s to have low oil pressure at idle. Probably been like that for the last 12 years. Mine used to show only a needle's width above zero at adle when warm.
I wouldn't worry about it.

My 94 does the same thing. AS long as the oil level is correct and the warning light doesn't come on, fuggedaboutit.
