Help, I have been fighting the stainless trim that fits into the windshield rubber. It keeps popping out behind as you push it into the rubber. It's a new windshield and rubber. The local body shop tried for an hour and gave up. They said it must take a special tool for insertion.Anybody have some advise on this? thanks

Tom first you will have better luck in the correct E type forum. Second the trim is chrome over metal so if it is in fact stainless you may never get it in as it will not be flexable enough. Third the service manual is the key. You will notice two small holes in the trim. You can use a short screw to hold the ends while you work the trim in under the rubber. It is no surprise the glass shop can not do it as there is no glue and that is about all they know these days. The only special tool is for the locking rubber and I would assume that is already in. After that a glaizers tool and soapy water is all you need. Good luck. George Camp
