I am new to Jaguars but a have a desire to purhcase an XK 150 Roadster. I have owned other classic cars my last being a Cord. Maybe due to owning a Cord I am very concerned about the "drivablility/reliablilty" of an XK. When I say driver I mean something I can drive 1,000 miles per year and still be able to hold my head up at a show. I am 6'-1" and the 140 - 150 fit me best. I like the disc brakes on the 150. What about the S vs non S version ?
If anyone has a specific car for sale or aware of one I would appreciate that information also.

thank-you

The XK150 is a very drivable car, relaxing, fun, and you remember every mile in a good sort of way. OD is very reliable, wish the XKE's had OD. These are touring cars so buy one and enjoy!!!

Hello Mark,

After 40 years of ownership of my 1959 XK150 roadster (4 speed with overdrive). As of March 01, 2007, I have decided it is time to 'move on' and will be putting the car up for sale shortly. My 150 is a 'matching numbers' car with a Jaguar Heritage Certificate. If you are still on the market for such a car, contact me. I am located in Victoria, British Columbia.

Regards,

Jim

not many features overall to select from I have the overdrive and it works great. Highly recommended if you can find it. On the highway it takes the pressure of the engine when running up at 70 +/-. But only about half of the 3.4 OTS production had it. Spots/Fog lamps with the 4-position headlight switch would be nice. A period radio.
The 150 was also the first XK to have a "leaper" as optional.
Most of these things can be added later in any event. xkmeister

150s are the most driveable of all the XKs. The disc brakes as you mention. The roll up windows. the extra 3" cockpit width
I have own ours for 27+ years. I keep a log of all trips and annual mileage. This year only having access on weekends but with great fall and no snow weather I put on 2100+. Average over the past 27 years is about 1200-1400.
You can easily do the 1000 but I do not know where you are located. The top never goes up and we were out Christmas day (40 degrees) and we've been out twice in Jan. With the windows up, vents closed (and blocked off a bit) 30 degree weather is passable
Good luck xkmeister
