In NJ to register a car as a collector vechicle, all applicants must submit from a recognized car club(on letterhead)that the vehicle has limited quanity of the original production run. To qualify for classic plates the car must be over 25 years old, and this XJS is a 1987. Can anyone help me require a letter of proof?

ÔÇ£ClassicsÔÇØ may be one of the most misused terms in auto talk. Generally used to describe any really nice old car, a classic is specifically a car produced between 1925 and 1948. It is a special breed of car that has achieved a level of excellence both in engineering and style and is recognized as such.

As one copy writer once wrote: "A Classic was built when men, morals and radiator shells stood foursquare and upright."

In Wisconsin, a car of 25 years only qualifies as an antique or a collector car. A classic, by definition, would never pertain to an XJS.
Most Jaguar Saloons would be considered classics though.
