I have an electrical problem where my windscreen wiper and the heater/AC would stop working, and they would both stop working at the same time.
The windscreen wiper would not react at all to any speed settings, and no air is blowing from the ventilation (I can though hear something opens and close when 'fan' is selected).
It happens a few days ago, but starts working again by itself a day after, and now they stop working again. I think it might be something loose or corroded wire somewhere, but where should I look, that would apply for both the AC/heater and the windscreen wiper? Thank you in advance for any help

Re.: AC/Heater and windscreen wiper connections
Those items share a commnon Fuse (#11?) so I suspect you need to clean up the fuse contacts and wire connections at the fuse block.

Hi Niels,
What you describe might be related to the wiper motor being shorted by water (and thereby corroding). I seem to recall this in Kirby Palm's reference information where there is suppose to be a plastic covering for the motor & if it has disentegrated water is playing havoc with the circuit.
Access the motor via the louver opening (sure you already know this). Here is an image I swiped from jcna.com

After removing the wiper motor and checked it on another XJS, it works fine.
I've then follow the last advise and rechecked the fues which all seems fine except that many of them have green/white material growing on them. I then clean them off as advised one by one (from the fuse box under the instruments on the driver side).
And after cleaning the secound last one from the right (35A), both the heater and wiper came back to life and start working again.
Thanks alot for everyone's help.
