I have a 1986 jag xjs that usually runs fairly well, but recently I will be driving and the car will just shut off. all the electrics will still be on, the alternator works good and charges at 13,good battery, and the fuel pump works. it just will shut off. when it does this I stop the car and when I go to start it, the car will not start, it will just crank over, but when it sits overnight it fires right back up. any suggestions

Hi Jason,
this happened to my friends car, in the end the only problem appeared to be a faulty temp sensor, located at the front end of B Bank, ( Driver side in the US and Canada) they are pretty cheap also , buy one from Nappa or any other aftermarket parts store....good luck,

I am haviing some ignition problems also with a 76 xjs I was wondering if there is a way to test the amplifier or any other components prior to spending the money and doing what I refer to as shotgun maint. (throwing parts at the problem and praying). Thanks with all help.
