Since the 25th of March i am the proud owner of a xke fhc series 1 build in 1966.
The colour is an unbelievable gould with glistering effect, which is of course not original.
Together with the colour i have the following figures:

Licenceplate: DHK 427
Title: since 10/14/70 to Mrs Sandra Cunningham Magill 1603 Patton Dr.Odessa
Bought from Lone Star Motor Co Midland Texas
Title: since 08/02/72 to Mrs Leila E Sigmon 2218 Cimmaron Midland Texas
Last approve was in 1974. After that the car has been stored and in 1992 sold to the Netherlands.

I would welcome any history of this car and maybe of the former owners.
And if they appreciate it inform them about the momentary status of the car and what i intend to do with it the coming years.

Thanks already: NOL

Thank you for responding to my message.
My name is really NOL. I live in Holland, and my name i not very common in Holland either.
Now for the car.

It is in untouched original shape, complete and running, except for the colour of course.
It only weares the sand and dust of 8 years driving between Odessa and Midland.
There is no rust so far, except for the battery-area, which has small marks of accid from the battery.
In the left door and the boot are small dints, i think of parking problems. The rubbers have worn out during the 18 years of storage. In 1992 it was shipped to Holland and stored again until this moment.

Engine no: 7E 4519-9/ Gearbox no: EJ 3605/ Car no: 1E 31208/ Body no: 4E 22012/ FHC
Rubbers will be the first thing i replace, starting in the front with the coolinghoses.
Replacing the brake callippers for an upgraded: Coopercraft version.
And then bring it to our Departement of cars for Dutch classicplates.

So far for the moment. Keep in contact please. greetings NOL

Hello there_____(not sure of the name), and congratulations on your new "baby". Hopefully, your car has been either well-maintained or mechanically restored. If not, then you have your work cut out for you.

In regards to identification and information, your best bet is to contact the previous owners directly to see if they have any old photos of the car, or if they can tell you anything else.
But you really should start by getting an original ÔÇ£buildÔÇØ certificate from Mike Cook

Mike Cook
Jaguar North America Archives,
555 MacArthur Blvd Mahwah NJ 07430
Tel. 201.818.8144 Fax 201.818.8464

These used to be issued by Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, and perhaps still are I guess. But this should give you information on what color(s) your E-Type left the factory as. It is well worth pursuing this!! You need to write down and send the EXACT information as found on the identification plate on your car.

Here is an interesting blog you might want to follow, as this guy is taking apart a 3.8 liter E-Type. Hopefully, yours is in better shape. By the way, you can subscribe to this guyÔÇÖs blog to receive e-mails when something has been added:

Good luck, take LOTS of photos, and keep in touch. By the way, the JCNA forums is a great place for Jaguar E-Types, but no means is it the ONLY site available for research!!
