I have recently rewired a 89 Conv. that had and engine fire. Unfortunately I have a problem with the abs system. The pump and relay all appear to function with the key in the # 1 position, clicks and pumps etc, however when turned to the start and run position the pump fails to come on at all. When the key is turned off as you pass through #1 position the pump works. Do I have a wire wrong or whats the problem. The brakes do in fact work, however the power assist is the non working part.Art

There is also a W/Y wire to the ECU that inhibits the pump motor while the ignition switch is in the Start Position.

I wonder if this wire may be providing a false signal.

On the other hand, I don't think that wire runs into the burned area. I suspect it runs from the ignition switch, through the interior of the cabin, into the trunk where the ABS ECU is.

For my info, does Position #1= Acc and #2= Run?

That is very odd. I didn't think anything in position one lost power in position two.
Did you check for power in position two? Is it recieving power?
I don't know this wiring path at all. I would suspect there's at least two inhibitory sensors involved. One will be the skid sensor and one would be a pressure regulator. Maybe try tracking those down and verifying function?
