by cleaning up the fuse contacts at #7 fuse , I was able to get the rad fans and the gauges all working again, but the NOT the wipers OR the signal lights ("flashers" in Jag

English). The Hazard flasher works fine . The flasher unit behind the gauges where the fuses are IS the Hazard flasher. I know this because I can hear and feel it when the Hazard light switch is on.

But is the signal "flasher" the same unit as it is on most other cars? Or is there another flasher for the signals?

These units were all working before they all stopped , (I thought) because of the poor contacts in the fuse panel, but only some things are working again.

Anyone have experience with this area of the wiring?  ('71, 4.2 E-type)

David not sure if this will go thru given the current state of the forums but on my 68 the flasher unit for the turn signal is under the steering wheel on a plug on the side just in front of the LH door. The flasher unit for the hazard lights is behind the flip down panel in between the 2 banks of fuses.

Last night on my Cosworth Vega the RH turn signal stopped working but the LH worked fine and the hazards worked fine. It has the same configuration as my E with the turn signal flasher under the dash close to the steering column and the ones for the hazards on the fuse block.  Turns out my turn signal flasher was the culprit.
