Hello everyone. I recently purchased a Series 2 1969 2+2, maroon/black. Original. 80K miles. It has great body & interior. Engine cranks easily and runs well. Numbers match plate. A/C works. Manual 4 speed.

It has a few issues I would ask for some advice on please. The previous owner only drove about 500 miles in last 10 years.

Tai lights & side lights don't work. All others do. Fuse is good. Switch is good. Wires appear set up right by the diagram.

Car pulls to left when Driving and more so when braking. After jacking up I found that the Left front brake is sticking. Right front not working much at all. Can these be rebuilt easily or is better to buy new or have a supplier like XKS rebuild it? Rear brakes unknown at present.

All of front suspension boots are torn. Parts seem tight. One steering boot bad. Can these boots be replaced or is it best to replace whole part?

Any recommendations on best service or parts manuals?

I have a 1970 2+2 with A/C and auto. I am completing a total restoration.
If you are new to the car and have not had old cars and especially old Jag before you are in for some exciting times. Get a 'Bentleys' manual and get Richards Liggetts Illustrated E Type loose leaf. This can be bought from the JCNA store.
You need to fix the brakes before you drive it any more as a car that doesn't stop well is a danger to all. You can have the calipers rebuilt, I used White Post but there are many that do the same.
The boots on the steering rack can be replaced easily. The suspension rubbers are a different story but if deteriorated they need to be replaced also.
As for the lights check to see if you have power to the connections in the rear, there are connections in the rear that may be corroded, if they have not been changed they will be bullet connectors.
