Hello,
I am looking for information on the 1996 XJR6, specifically what kind of mpg it gets on the highway and to verify that it is the AJ16 4.0L engine.
The reason is that I have a plain XJ6 and have found that Eurotoys is willing to get the parts together to upgrade my machine. But if the highway mileage goes into the SUV range, this idea isnÔÇÖt so hot.

Also, does anyone with an XJR6 have the pulley upgrade? What did that do to the performance and highway mpg?

thanks in advance,
mike

Assuming its been well cared for an '03 oughta be OK. The engine problems of the earlier V8s were ironed out by then. Lots of expensice luxury car gizmos to check for proper operation, of course.

Make sure the trans is OK. Being a V8 XJR it'll have a verrry expensive Mercedes Benz design trans.

Cheers

AJ16 engine, yes.

I can get 23+ mpg highway with my XJR IF driven gently and below 70 mph. I'd say 20-21 highway is a good real world number that can be consistantly acheived with no special effort required.

I'd like to see the list of parts Eurotoys has in mind for the upgrade. Something tells me it won't be everything Jaguar used when building the car.

It would be waaaaay easier to just go out an buy an XJR. With a bit of looking you can find a really clean '95-'97 for ridiculously little money.

Cheers
