what deal! this same Heater Valve is sold at auto parts stores for $27.00 + tax. It replaces the XJ-6 oem heater valve and it lasts a lot longer too.

yes, it will, this is a generic replacement for all Series 2 and 3 XJ-6/12, a Normally Open valve with 5/8" ports. (NOTE: to adapt the existing vacuum hose to this valve, you will need a 3 inch piece of 1/8" hose, and a 1/8" to 1/4" plastic adapter-fitting, about $1.00 at any auto parts store.
Of course, this valve doesn't have the same mounting bracket as the oem part, so it will just hang between the hoses, but it is so light it will not stress the hoses. In fact, you don't even have to remove the old heater valve, (which means removing the grille under the wipers).
The same heater valve can be special ordered in Normally Closed mode, and I use one of those in my '65 S type as well.
If you don't believe me, go to the XJ forum at Jag-Lovers and ask the question there, most everyone there uses this valve nowadays. They are assembled in China or in Mexico, so you can Buy American with confidence. :-))
