I have a July 1970 OTS e-type with power steering and air conditioning. Brake lights have stopped working so I suspect the pressure switch but can't find it. I have read that it is directly in front of the clutch pedal. On what is it mounted?
I have also read that the eningine # is stamped on the bellhousing flange by the dipstick but haven't found it yet. Where exactly is it? Outside rim of flange or on the face?

Thanks in advance for any help.
David

Thank you for the photo. Is this looking up from the bottom of the car? I know, dumb question but I just want to confirm.

What about the engine #? I am real keen to confirm this part of the lore of this car is that the mechanic that delivered the car when new, 500 miles or so, had a little too much fun and did something to the engine. We have a spare crank but my wife says she doesn't remember it being around as long as the car. I am hoping, expecting, that perhaps the crank and bearings were replaced and not the whole engine. Oh, this is basically a one owner car and unfortunately the person, mother-in-law, that could answer these questions passed away 10 years ago.

On my 1971 SII FHC the switch is below the point where the steering column enters the firewall. Follow the brake line across the firewall and DOWN near the engine (opposite the dip stick).
