I just watched a Youtube video about Porting and Polishing heads. I had a friend with the same
BN1 1953-4 Healey that I had and I was amazed and a little skeptical when he actually spent many hours
porting and polishing the head. I rebuilt the engine completely , but did none of the porting or polishing
. I raised my compression by puting in old Dodge flat head pistons which raised the compression to 10:1
which gave me the edge and I beat him in a hill climb . After watching this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iejDWSQEsqI) and I am wondering if any other E-type owner enthusiasts would/did consider this
Porting and Polishing procedure . There are many reasons to complete this kind of work on the E-type engine
so when I rebuild the engine, I am wondering if the gain from this operation will be worth the invested
time and effort. Does anyone have experience with this procedure on the E-type head?

I INTEND to do the engine bearings and rings and pistons and valves and all that. My question was is
it worth doing the porting and polishing while the head is off? Some say it is not worth doing for a carburetted
engine . Only worth it on a fuel injected engine .. Apparently the turbulence provided by the rough surfaces
is beneficial for the carb models , but not for the fuel injected models. Opinions? I am no engineer and
must look this up in Phil Smith or someone like him ... Never considered the question , Joey?
