I am having trouble with vapor lock when I turn the engine off when it is hot. I can't get it to start unless I open the hood and wait 20-30 minutes, then it starts right up and runs great. I choke it and pump the gas pedal and no fuel gets to the engine. I thought the plugs were flooded but I pulled them and they were dry. Fuel Pump is working fine. It has new points, condenser, and distributor cap. Does anyone have a solution for this problem. Thanks

Hi Jeffery
If the fuel pump works when the engine wont run, then its not vapor lock. Vapor lock occurs when fuel before the pump turns to vapor, which the pump can not pump. How about the fuel reservoirs on the carbs? Are your float valves working? I recommend Grose valves.
Good luck
Curt

Make certain the vent hole in the middle of the gas cap isn't plugged up.
Check your carbs after a run. They should be cool and stay relatively cool. If not, it may help to replace the insulators.
