Hi guys,
I am new to this forum. I am interested in owning my first Jaguar. I have visited Jeff's Ressurection shop in Taylor TX and really liked the car lines, and overall design. I've been looking for one. Found this 68 2 seater in Las Vegas at (what seems to me...) a decent "no reserve" price.
I apologize for this "urgency", but I did not see the add untill today.

The car seems to be in good running condition. Owner says carbs have been worked on recently and also clutch replaced. The pictures say no rust underneath, but I can't really tell.It is on e-bay for the next 6 hours, and I was "hoping" someone in Las Vegas could take a look at this add. Maybe soneone knows the car and/or the owner. In general I am looking for your expert opinnions, on whether or not I should purchase this car "sigth unseen", which is risky I know. I won't do it if you guys tell me not to. Please, know that I am a Ferrari owner, so I am fully aware of how expensive buying a "chep" vintage car can be. So, please give me some feed back, within the next 6 hours.
My email is caatstress.com

The e-bay item number is:
230376529477
From one of the photos:
Data plate showing
Car # 1E5043
Engine # 7E15753-9
Thank you very much for any help.
Cheers.
Claudio

Thanks to all of you. These Internet Forums have proven, once again, to be the place to go for expert advice by true specialists and afficionados on this particular type of car. I passed on this car, and probably saved lots of money and headackes on the lung run,.....but the search continues. I am in touch with Mr. McLoad, whom is giving me some invaluable advice.
Thanks again. Cheers.

Seems a bit peculiar that this car is for sale in Vegas not but 16 days before the big Barratt-Jackson auction in Las Vegas. I'll bet a dollar to a donut that this piece of crap was refused even by Barratt-Jackson. Even BJ has their standards I guess.

And the EBay dumping ground continues to roll on.

Claudio, This has all the signs of a car that has been stored in Colorado for many years, then bought cheaply, got to run, then quickly painted and had the interior redone for a "quick" sale, The hammer is unused because it is brand new in fact, I think this year should have the eared nuts. Keep looking and then have the car inspected. Better still go see it yourself and take a knowledgeable person with you. There are very few clean original cars left, the ones that were junk are now reappearing as restored, clean original etc. If anyone buys this car they will have no right to complain, the description and photos show exactly what it is!

Claudio: Personally, I would pass on this car. It has been repainted, and not a very good job I might add. The white/tan frame rails and trunk area are the true original color of the car, not BRG. Seven day auction; no reserve....it's junk. No telling what is under that "new" paint. He conveniently doesn't mention the change in color. This could be a flood car. There is a reason why there are no close-ups of the engine. No, you had better run far away from this one. Spend your money on a decent, original driver....one that you can spend the time looking at yourself, or having a Jaguar E-Type specialist look at for you. There are hundreds of things that can be wrong on this car, and it will cost you dearly to have them fixed. You are SMART in asking this forum first!!
