It is great to be back in the USA. Are any Jags coming through Biloxi this week? Where is the best Jaguar club in this friendly, warm, hospitable part of the world?

Hi, Earl,

I love the hardtop for my '66 as well. Really a nice accessory. Yes, Rainex is a big help. Thanks for getting out there and representing the E-Types out there, even though the 4 speed doesn't isn't the best for parading. By the way, that was one of our JCOF club members in the XJS (blue, right?). I called to ask him something the other day, and he told me he was Cruisin' the Coast in Biloxi at the time. Sounds like fun.

Thanks, Lou. I'll give New Orleans a look before I give up and switch to a Subaru with a big wing and a coffee can exhaust.

Cruisin' the Coast was a hoot. A couple of downpours convinced me that having a hardtop was practical if unpoetic. My poor windshield wiper motor got overwhelmed; anybody else a fan of Rainex? There were thousands of cruisers rumbling along the beach for almost a week; from a brass Ford to the newest Camaro and from rusty rat rods to Pebble Beach level trailer queens: predominantly Americana. VW's were out and I saw a couple of MBs, but I only saw 1 red Spitfire, 1 blue Midget , 1 XJS and that was it! What an opportunity to show off to a crowd of folks who really wanted to see nice cars in motion and compare notes with people who have experience in making a spectacular restoration and presentation. Admittedly, idling down the strip with a stiff 4 speed had its humbling moments, but I was the only E type to be seen and it was fun to expand cultural categories.

Who'll come join me next year?

Unfortunately, we don't have a club near Biloxi. The closest club, I believe would be the Birmingham club. Or you could join as an at large member. Please check out the club list page for more details.
