After getting my feet wet in the british Car Field with 2 restorations of
my 2 mgb's, I'm going for the big challenge and now time for JAGUAR.

Hi looking for a bit of help...
In the prosess of removing all of the injection off my 75 xj12l 4 door, with 59k on it, and putting on a carb setup off a 74.
i have all the stuff (carbs, manifold, etc but am missing the bell cranks and the linkage to the carbe, also looking 4 the air boxes.
will be putting all the injector parts (injectors, plenums, throttle plates etc.)on E-bay soon anyone out there can help.

ALSO CAN ANYONE SEND ME A CLOSE-UP PIC OF THE PIVOT POINT ON THE TWO MANIFOLDS WHERE THE BELLCRANKS ARE MOUNTED,AND THE LIKKAGE TO THE CARBS

Jim
Well if it was just doing a tuneup on the engine i would have but as i git into the project it was like a snow ball rolling down hill.the injectors were all pluged up ,(so i sent them out and had them reconditioned and flow tested). still no luck flushed out the fuel system from the tanks up to ihe injectors, and back.
DID I MENTION THAT THE MICE WERE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WITH A GREAT HOME FOR 14 YEARS. So there went the wireing wrapping and some insulation.NOW there is the wireing that goes under the AC pump, and layed on the vally pan that was all burnt and bare up to the coil.
SO $100 fore the top of the engine, with extra valve covers, double fuel pump, 6 carbs, all the plumming for the water with thermostat housings etc
What i'm missing is the bell cranks for the linlage, and the 2 air boles for the carbs
My trade was a fabricator/metalsmith, and had my own collision shop so i'll fab what i need
Dont get me wrong i'm very well versed in injection, my 1973 MGB has a 93 Camero 3.4L V6 eith T-5 tranny antd the compleet wiring harness tied into the B wireing, runs like a kitten and has 200HP at the rear wheels on a dino. My wifes 70 MGBGT has a Borg Werner T35 Auto Tranny I installed (she dosent drive standerd shift).
The jagwill be a nice driver and a fer local car shows and a fun project, " I AM GETTING TO OLD TO GET INTO ANYMORE HEAVY RESTORATIONS"

Tom

I'm with those that wonder why you are going backwards to carbs. If you have any computer skills I suggest you look into the fuel injection controller system designed for hobbiasts called Megasquirt. You can download any or all of their manual from the web. Prices and availability are very reasonable, and certainly will be lower than the carb conversion wirth linkages. From a concours standpoint, I think the change would be invisible.

But in all my poking around, in anticipation of injecting an XK engine, I have not seen any reference to doing a Jaguar V12. Still, it does not look that hard from reading all the manuals.

John,GREAT JOB on the pics, just what i need to continue in my quest.and the piping on the carbs helps.
I got most all the parts I need, but they were all apart so i'm fishing through manuals etc. to find whrtr they go .
Being in Buffalo NY.all the cars are put away for the winter,so this forum is a great help.
THANKS ... TOM

The car looks good from here, I prefer the one's and two's to the three, BUT! If you have a friend who happened to have a V12 carb set up hanging around, you have all the help you are going to need!

well the car has not been run for 14 years(1995) a real barn find and it was only 1.5 miles away on the nex street. The mice really got into the wireing all over the engine, and the fuel looked like expresso ,. After sending the injectors our had then refurbished and flow tested still nothing, so a friend had a carb setup kicking around so i bought it...
MY goal is under $1000 car parts and to have it running, so far i'm just around $ 600.
including 5 original crome steel wheels and hubcaps ($ 250)a real steal there too
WISH ME LUCK
