XK150 panels that protect the battery

Willian both of the battery boxes (if orig.) can be unbolted and removed from the car--calling it a box might not be accurate but I do not know what else to call it--oh and that is what Jaguar thought the noun should be. Are we talking about the same thing?

On--the-59-I-have-here-aside-from-the-fitted-sheet-metal-that-is-in-fact-attached-to-the-frame-there-is-only-a-front-cover-i-don't-ever-recall-seeing-one-in-a"box"-frame.-the-140-coupe-I-have-is-the-same!

Ken if your 150 is an "S" the doors are the same but the boxes are not. If you have the shelf for the battery you have the biggest part but there are 2 of them (one on either side) on the drivers side (assuming LHD) the top of the battery box is the mount and home of your brake booster. Do you have a parts manual or an XK 150 JCNA guide?

The area is usually open toward the engine and has a removable panel in the wheel arch, the other sides and base are fitted sheet metal and the firewall! ps; I will look tomorrow to make sure.

Hi Bill, Thanks for your prompt response. I have the panel that sits in the fender. According to me mechanic, Warren, the panels that fit around the side and behind the battery are missing. The battery is open to the weather on three sides. The shelf is in place.

Ken,I think there is only one, that covers the section behind the wheel. and I may just have one somewhere, i'll look around for it.
