When driving my 1995 6 cyl. roaster the oil pressure will drop to nearly zero, on the oil guage, when I come to a stop. The pressure will go back to the normal range when the car is moving. Is this normal?
Thanks,
Herb

Oh yeah, one note on 15-40. You'll want to be careful. Most of the oil out there in that viscosity range is DIESEL service and has some zinc additives that'll screwball your catalytic converters over time. So check the service ratings. I have a Cummins and a VW TDI so I can tell you straight that you do not want the Chevron Delo or the Shell Rotella oils.

I've taken to running 15-40 in mine as that red mark on the oil pressure made me anxious. That seems to have sorted it out for me.

Herb, I suggest yoiy go to your mechanuic and have the oil pressure tested. The gauges have been problematic but your description seems to indicate a low pressure problem.

Herb that is a common problem--you need to go to your dealer and they will replace the sender with a new style then flash your computer--You will still have a gauge but it will act more like a warning light--it will maintain a constant reading. There may be after market efforts to replace the sender to function properly but I am not aware of them.
