I lost the key to my '98 XJ8 and was told that there was a way for me to program the key myself. I went to the dealership and had them cut me a key, and now all I need to do is have it programmed to the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Sorry, Chris. You can program remote fobs at home, but you need diagnostic equipment to program keys. Make sure they gave you the correct part number. Your model year requires P/N HNA 7230AA1. There are also part numbers JLM1950 and HJD 7230AA1. They are for different years.
