I'm upgrading to Dayton tubeless wheels for my Series ll E-Type. My friend wants three of the "old" (50,000miles) wheels, which look just fine. No missing or loose spokes, no visible rust, etc. Any suggestions as to a fair, to low, price for the three?
Thanks in advance!

Help Question: value of used wire wheels?
Thank you for your thoughtful replies, no surprise. I opted to charge my new, but very good, Jag friend $50. per wheel, asking him if that was greedy, and he responded very favorably. So I believe it was reasonable for both parties. Again, I appreciate your taking the time to reply-there will be more questions forthcoming, I'm sure!
My last question involved new radio installation in a '71 OTS w/ AC, and I'll give a full report on my discoveries as that project unfolds. Have all the parts, except the darn radio itself!

Help Question: value of used wire wheels?
I absolutely agree. If a friend, give them to him. If you want money, put them on EBay.
What goes around comes around.

Help Question: value of used wire wheels?
Bob if he is indeed a "friend" why not give them to him? As for a price it is what ever you are offered but unless he wants them to move a project around why put them on a good car? The wheels and tires are the only part of the car that stays in contact with the road--why go cheap? But bad wheels and tires will let other parts of the car contact the road--and fence and......... Please do not take the answer wrong but why quibble with a friend. When I do a restoration I throw away the old wheels--people do take them but that is their problem but as far as selling old wheels----NEVER.
Older style used wire wheels are like rolling the dice at Las Vegas; you could get lucky. For roll-around use in the shop, they will be fine. For the road; are you feeling lucky, punk? (Sorry, old Clint Eastwood quote from movie). Hard as it is to believe, some folks will take one of these cars and really lean on it, at their peril. OH, my spare wire wheel was 'mis-placed' and I bought one from a friend, complete with tire. $50.00 American. It is my spare. Does not match my redlines.
