I would like to have the Daimler SP250 become an allowable car in JCNA Concour and other JCNA disciplines............
If no one has the knowledge to formulate a judging guide, perhaps they could be allowed in Special Division and be merely judged by condition if not authenticity......
Many were built whilst Jaguar owned the company, and I believe they have a right to be part of JCNA if they so wish......
We are always being told we need more members, this would be a simple way of getting a few handfulls more......

Ok Art and Lou--I have just added a bunch of new books to the shoppe--included in them are two (2) on Daimlers and DARTS. I have not seen any proposal for the AGM to consider the proposal (ART) and the deadline is very soon.

Lou you are sort of late to the thread--go to the XJS forum and look under tire sizes. Guess it was unfair to discuss here w/o that body . In any case the subject is just DARTS. They were never imported to the US as Daimlers --Daimlers as well were never imported--but DARTS were. We do allow Daimlers in the classes and are specifically cited in the classes but they are the ones that share Jaguar components. The problem with the DARTS is they share no components and there are no standards or guides. THe S class seems to be the only possibility at this point (possibly S4) but even that would requier a vote. My suggestion to Art was to organize all of this and contact the DART folks where ever they be. I did look today and there seems to be a UK DART club but no link. So the ball so to speak is in the hands of the members--BUT before the general statement that Daimlers are excluded a full look at the current classes should be done by everyone--they are not excluded--and before saying that they are excluded from slalom then look at Z class--yes it is for everything else--but that is inclusion in an event not exclusion. However if the desire is for a recognized class in the C or D divisions then someone (read not me) will have to develop a standard and guide as they are so totally different they can not be lumped into another class. I stand ready to help but hope the conversation is on point.

The proposal was for Concours, In Slalom there is already a class (Z), but that is open to all cars. What was proposing was bringing the Daimler's into our other events and treating them like a Jaguar as the "S" classes are still only open to Jags.

Lou and Art--I was trying to be understated--the point is that the Daimlers are already included and nibbling around the edges will not foster any movement on the subject.

These Daimler's could also raise the slalom numbers....... could be a quick little car. get round the corners pretty good........... and with that Hemi small V 8 would bring a new sound as well.......zoom zoom zoom.....

Just want to make sure I am clear here--my support for you ART is my support. I do not speak for the JCRC I simply get one vote. But I still think it is worth a good look.

Art now you are talking--I would support their inclusion to the "S" classes. If further development was made toward guides and standards who knows. I do not think this would be an issue but hope others chime. Just for waht it is worth our club once had a fellow enter a Ferret Scout Car--fully restored in an S class---It was a hoot-they were built by Daimler but with a RR engine--no matter.
the Dart man dropped off the Earth. LOL.. however I did see one on the opening stages of last years Goodwood Revival.... just a bit of it.........
