Help! I have a 1971 XKE Series II. In a recent move, my Stromberg carburators (which were off the car) got lost in the moving process. They are nowhere to be found (probably went with the load to the dump.) I need both carbs with the linkage connecting the two together. Got a pair lying around? My cell number is (919) 247-9010. Thanks.

I confess to having thrown away more Stromberg(Zenith) carburetors than I care to count, plus I don't remember. They came on a lot of cars, and most of them were the same size bore, regardless of application. Known as the 'smog' carbs, these models were designed to meet emission standards and little else. If I had kept any after to move, you would be welcome to as many as I could find on the shelves. I simply do not like the carbs, and think they were a bad design. Many manufacturers tried to avoid going to more expensive fuel injection setups, but in the end, they all got on the wagon. Good luck in your search.
