My name is Paul Munn. I live in Chicago. My father passed away in 1995 after being very ill for 10 years. Some years before that he had shipped his 1960 XK150 to a shop in either Virginia or West Virginia. The gentlemenÔÇÖs name that ran/owned the shop was Aubrey (assuming thatÔÇÖs his first name).

Because of the severity of his illness, my father lost touch with Aubrey. Last contact was probably 1987, we shipped him the top and seats. My son, 12, and I were looking through some old car paperwork and we found the title issued in 1984. I have family members in the police force. They have searched the national database, includes all 50 state registrations, junk title and demolished cars and the title comes back to my father on all searches.

We are more curious about what happened to the car than we are trying to recover it. I am a car guy myself, and if someone has taken ownership of the Jaguar, I would be interested in photos or correspondence. I would not contest ownership. If the car is rotting away somewhere without a good home, then I would be interested in acquiring it. The car was originally red, I believe Aubrey was painting it cr?¿me.

So, I was wondering if the membership can tell me anything about a shop (possibly a private shop) in the Virgina/West Virginia area that was restoring Jaguars in the late 70s to late 80s, run or owned by an Aubrey. Or perhaps one of the members has specific info on this vehicle. Any resources or other info you think would help, I would really appreciate.

Thank you for taking the time to read this,

Paul Munn

Paul,

Good luck in your search. You might also ask the nations Jaguar clubs to help during their auto shows in keeping an eye out for the Jag's number, Possibly your note here will be enough, but it wouldn't hurt to at least contact the clubs along the Eastern coast.

It's doubtful it will be found, but who knows, it may be sitting behind someone's garage just rotting away. This would be a great "Treasure Hunt" for the clubs to have. Who knows. Stranger things have been know to happen.
