I have a 1988 XJS Hess & Eisenhardt Convertible
Heater Not Working
I am not getting any heat or warm defrosters. I have replaced the heater valve and have checked the hoses behind the radio. The hoses are secure. Does anyone have any thoughts?
Speedometer Working Intermittently
I checked the connection at the unit mounted on the transmission (and NOT the unit mounted on the rear cover of the differential as used on the later models). The connector was old and cruddy; so I cut the wires and made a direct connection. This did not solve the problem. When the speedometer is not working, it seems to come back on when I go over a bump. Something, then, is apparently loose. Any thoughts? I have never taking the dash apart and check the speedometer connection there.

Speedometer Working Intermittently and Heater Not Working
Change the transducer--it is finished! Heater valve--you did not say if when you select heat if the valve functions--it is quite obivious when it does.
