Hello All: This for my 1994 xjs 2+2. I can hear the electric solenoids working when I lock and unlock the car. Today
I locked the car, and later, unlocked it, but the trunk latch is immovable. Worked the lock/unlock cycle many times, but no success on the trunk being able to open. I looked into my xjs service manual, but no mention of this type of problem, and no trouble shooting info either. Anyone have this experience and solved it, or, should I contact a locksmith to drill out the lock mechanism and replace the lock portion of the system? Thank you for your time and consideration. The tomato harvest was fabulous this year. Ali King

Trunk lock
Are you certain you aren't using a 'valet' key to unlock it?
If you need any parts give me a call at 650-455-1110.

Happy New Year, all y'all. finally opened my trunk!! My mechanic suggested WD-40. I did spray it into the lock, then let it sit for several days, failure. More WD-40 AND anti-ice spray. One day later, shazam, it worked. When looking into the lock works, much cleaning must be done, and some lubrication applied. Maybe lubrication I use on my boat. Thank you for your time and consideration. Looking forward to this year's tomato crop. Mazel Tov Ali King PS: read the owner's handbook for the locking sequence, using electrics or manual.
