I have a 1960 XK150 with a auto trans (Borg Warner). My problem is it goes out of gear to neutral when driving as I leave off the gas, but not all the time. It also does this when I come to a stop but not every time. I have to move selector to neutral and back into drive to get it back in gear. When I do this there is a big clunk sound. Any ideas on what causes this and how to fix it? Where can I take it to have it fixed?

I would check two things--first I would check the shift linkage carefully and the brackets that hold it. Second I would check the rear U-joint. Your two issues may or may not be related!
