I have been told that the XK140 FHC windscreen washer is different from the one on the OTS and the DHC. Why? What does it look like? Where can I get a correct one? Barratt & XK Unlimitede do not carry it.

thank You George Camp on washer for XK140 & clarification on MC Roadster.

I recently inherited three Jags now located in SoCal. George clarifies the "C: point...the 140 does not have C head but does have dual exhaust, fog lights as George mentions.

My father also had a 61 MKII 3.8 now sitting in garage alonside the 140 and a MKV DHC. All running well. The MKII has a C head, 3.8, wire wheels & overdrive. One opinion is that MKIIs did not usually have C heads. The 140 head is G5879. Both appear to have the HD^6 carbs, both engines run very well.

A restorer recently surveyed all 3 and suggested I swap heads placing the C on the 140. I guess this would make it an MC. I simply do not know if any benefit would be derived from swapping heads? Would it materially increase the XK140 value? I wonder if my father may have ever switched heads but really doubt this. Should I swap or leave well enough alone? I haven't any insight on this.

Grateful for any opinions on C head importance yes or no.

Curtis the 140 OTS is easy--call SNG Barratte and tell them I said sell you one! The FHC had a unique one that looked more like a US version with the vac unit external to the bottle.

David, it is because of the different space on the open cars , they need a different reservoir. Lets see if I have better luck with my question.
