Wondering if anyone has a suggestion.

Was in the process of removing the sway bar for painting and to replace the bushings.

Removed all bolts easily, accept for one.

It keeps turning and does not come out. In order to remove the bracket, I'll have to cut it. I beleive that the welded nut on the inside the frame has broken its weld.

Any suggestions to replacing this bolt?

Actually, its not the bracket I was going to cut, but rather the bolt so i can get out the bracket.

But, to clarify further, its the thread (nut) in the dog leg that is moving at the same time as I turn the bolt. I am assuming there is a welded nut on the inside of the dog leg that is welded in to provide the thread for the bolt. When I turn the bolt, nothing really happens, it does not thread out of the hole.

If I understand correctly, you are suggesting a time cert or heli coil type of thread refurbishment. I could drill out the bolt. the thread area will just keep turning.

Mark I do not understand what cutting the bracket will get you. Drill out the bolt and head. There are fastners that go by several names (HUCK for one) that will allow you to insert into your new hole and make threads. Your old bolt and nut will be in the dog leg but that will not matter.The brand I use comes from Car Quest under the name (POP) and is labeled as "Sheet metal inserts. The thread I use for this is 15/16-18 unc. The grip range is .027-.150 and the drill size to prep the hole is 17/32. You will need a special tool to do the job but you will find many uses for these handy devices (seat rail holes for one!)
