Having participated in numerous events both judging and entering, it occured that the score depends on the knowledge of the judge at the event. It is very hard to know it all and catch everything especially when there are a lot of cars and a time schedule. I would propose that with the era of computers, the judging points be put into a database for each car. Then when the car is entered, the club host with a password for access could download a list for the car. The judge could look the car over, see if any of the previous deductions had been corrected or any more noticed and update the score sheet to the JCNA. I realize that there are privacy issues but I would not have a problem with others knowing what was counted off on my car. I believe that this would simplify things on the judging end and help even out the "hard judging" from the "soft" judging. This was just the subject of a lunch discussion with fellow employees and seemed like a good idea at the time. Thanks, Dick

Im of the opinion that the more information the better, there is no real reason to keep things secretive, in fact Id like to see all score sheets posted publicly. If I were outscored by a car which clearly did not come close to the preparation and condition of my own car, Id like to see why. It would be helpful in determining whether or not the judges are doing their jobs, but also in helping the contestant understand the nuances of the judging process.
