Stephan removing the secondary butterflies was a suggestion from one of the other JCOH members on how to get better throttle response from the Stromberg set up. I pulled the carbs off still hooked together on their throttle shaft. I then removed the two screws holding each secondary throttle butterfly plate in place and withdrew them from the shaft and left everything else intact and put the carbs back on. It made a HUGE improvement on my car. I can easily put them back in but cannot think of a reason I would since has worked well for 14+ years for me. I have heard of other folks wiring them open so there may be other ways of doing the same thing
