ITN was the independent news network set up to keep the BBC up to the mark. This is footage I've never seen before. I'll post it other places too but JCNA first :-)
I don't know what you expected Bill Lyons to sound like, but for a man from Blackpool I didn't expect this cut-glass squeaky voice. I guess people adopted a slightly different tone in those days when being recorded in a formal setting. Enjoy.
