On cars with automatic transmissions where is the timing mark?
The shop manual I have only show a manual transmission w/ timing mark on flywheel. I don't think this works for the auto since the ring gear mounts to the torque converter and there is no flywheel. I checked the ring gear there are no markings on the ring gear. There is a pointer mounted to the front of the oil pan, but no mark on the dampener. There are two holes in the front face of the dampener but the one hole is 180 degrees out of alignment with the pointer when No1 & 6 cylinders are at TDC.
