I am having trouble determining if the area surrounding the guages on a 140 OTS is leather covered over the metal surround area or has a wooden panel around the guages , which is then covered in leather. I have pictures of 140s showing both. Is one correct or are the British car builders up to their old tricks--Use whatever works?

It would help if you made it clear if it is a OTS or DHC/FHC. In the case of the OTS it is metal with a wood cover that is leather covered. The other two are of course wood.
